Background:
CoreStack currently supports the June 2024 version of the AWS Well-Architected Framework (WAF). However, while syncing this framework to AWS, you may encounter errors with around 4–5 Best Practices (BPs) failing with an error message like: "Unknown choice"
Reason for the Issue:
AWS has internally updated their Well-Architected Lens to a newer version (February 2025).
Some Best Practices from the June 2024 version are no longer recognized in the latest AWS version, which leads to the sync errors.
As of now, AWS’s official documentation still lists November 2024 as the latest available version, leading to further confusion.
What We are Doing:
We have already opened a support case with AWS to get clarity on this discrepancy between the UI/tool version and their published documentation.
We are working closely with AWS to confirm the root cause and to get guidance on the correct, supported framework version.
Recommended Action:
Upgrade the Well-Architected Framework in CoreStack to match the version reflected in AWS (likely February 2025), if you see this option available.
Please note: This mismatch is due to AWS version changes not yet reflected in their public documentation, and we are tracking it closely.
Stay Updated:
We will continue to provide updates as we get further clarification from AWS. If you’re experiencing this issue or have questions, please reach out to CoreStack Support.
