Implementing Markup and Discounts for the Current Month
Scenario:
The customer intends to apply a markup for a Cloud Account. However, when creating the markup, CoreStack defaults to the upcoming month for the Rule start month, even if it's the first day of the current month. This situation prompts the question as to why the markup isn't being applied for the current month.
Impact:
Applying Markup and Discounts for the current month is not feasible in CoreStack. When customers attempt to do so, CoreStack does not provide the option to apply it for the current month. Instead, we can only create the markup starting from the upcoming month, rather than the current one.
Explanation:
Applying Markup and Discounts for the current month is not feasible in Corestack. The limitation arises due to technical constraints, particularly for certain cloud providers, within CoreStack's multicloud Governance framework. To ensure consistency across different cloud providers, so applying Markup and Discounts would only take effect from the upcomming the rule was created, rather than for the current month. To address this limitation, we do not offer the option to apply Markup and Discounts for the current month.
